Medicines Information

The NHPC contains information about a range of products that currently, or previously, exist in the medicines supply chain in the Republic of Ireland.  The primary aim is to support all possible use cases for eHealth in Ireland.

This means that the NHPC contains information about:

  • Licensed medicinal products
  • Unlicensed medicinal products
  • Medical devices and sundries (bandages, dressings, ostomy equipment etc.)
  • Nutritional products, including foods for special diets
 

As well as pricing information, barcodes etc, the NHPC provides professional information on products with frequent updates. The professional information provided includes the Medicinal Product Name, PA/EU number, Generic Name, Pharmaceutical Form, Ingredients, Strength, Legal Classification, Warning and Counselling advice.
